Brighton born and raised. It's a really nice place, but you can find a way to get bored of anywhere. I suddenly realised how much I missed it when I moved to London.
Around secondary school age I got into skateboarding but was never that good, so I quickly became the designated filmer. The camera would always be in the line of danger. Protect at all costs, your elbows will heal but fisheye lenses don't.
As a result of my dad being a photojournalist we traveled a fair bit when I was a kid. I remember going to Egypt and Thailand. I recall being too young to properly appreciate them, but in hindsight, I enjoyed seeing the world. I feel like it gave me perspective.
As for school, I recall being very bad at English and Science. As soon as it came to picking GCSE's it was triple creative subjects without hesitation. I knew for sure I'd be something visual. London's the defacto choice for a first proper job when you live in Brighton. so off to Kingston School of Art I went.
Friends used to call me D-Dot. It came from a niche Facebook-era-meme, but I decided after ~10 years it's time for a rebrand. Alongside visual design wood/metalwork is a key interest and I keep about half the things I make, with a long-term dream of building somewhere to live. I don't know, perhaps London's a starter, but I'm not sure I could afford that.
I'm not that into change, easy going and happy with whatever. I think that'll do.
